Creating Links to Internet Pages

To create a link to a page on the Internet, follow these instructions:

  1. Open Claris Home Page, if it's not already open.
  2. Open the page to which you want to add an Internet link.
  3. Choose Edit Page from the Window menu.
  4. Select the text or graphic that you want to use as the link.
  5. Choose Link to URL from the Insert menu.
  6. In the Link Editor window, type or paste the complete URL of the destination page into the URL box. Then press Return.
  7. Choose Save from the File menu.
  8. Choose Preview in Browser from the File menu.
  9. When your page appears in the browser, click the new link to test it.

If your browser is already at the page you want to create a link to, copy the complete URL from your browser's location field, then paste it into the Link Editor window. (If you copy and paste the URL instead of typing it yourself, it's more likely you'll enter the URL correctly.)

To remove a link, do this: Select the linked item, open the Link Editor window, and click Remove Link.

To remove the colored border around a linked graphic, do this: Choose Edit Page from the Window menu, double-click the graphic, and type 0 in the Border box.

To save time, leave the Link Editor window open and create several links at the same time.
