Windows 8.1 (2013) activation keys will not work with Windows 8.0 (2012):

I did test a Windows 8.1 activation key on regular Windows 8, it failed to work. Must find a non-used copy of Windows 8.0 product key somehow. Likely new old stock on eBay.
