How to Disable Solaris Swap Partition:

Edit the /etc/vfstab file and make two changes:

  1. The line starting with #swap, make the yes under column "Mount at boot" to no.
  2. Put a # at the start of the "/dev/zvol/dsk/rpool/swap" line.
  3. Save and reboot.
It should now have no swap mounted when rebooted. If GNOME is installed system monitor will show swap not available.
