Disable FreeBSD tip of the day at login:

The tip of the day in FreeBSD ssh login is called "fortune".

Edit the "~/.profile" file and comment out or remove this line:
"if [ -x /usr/games/fortune ] ; then /usr/games/fortune freebsd-tips ; fi"
Then logout and back in. The random tip at the end of the login message should no longer appear.
