My preferred settings to compress Sony a5100 camera AVCHD video: ================================================================ Files are too large when set to AVCHD Type of recording (MTS Container, MPEG-4 Video, AC3 Audio). So I compress The video (about blu-ray quality but with support up to 60fps) and the audio (about the same type commonly found on DVD, but Stereo channels) and compress them to H265 video and lossless flac audio. Only problem is that I will lose metadata specifying the camera model, which is worth the trade off for massively smaller files with like quality. ffmpeg -hwaccel vaapi -hwaccel_output_format vaapi -hwaccel_device /dev/dri/renderD128 -i A.MTS -acodec flac -compression_level 8 -c:v hevc_vaapi new.mkv ---------------------- Date: August 2021.
