Ubuntu Touch 24.04 notes:

• Ubuntu Touch with 24.04 base released in September 2025.


• It includes also the new version of the Ubuntu "Circle of Friends" logo from 2022.


• Any device from that supported 20.04 also now supports 24.04, such as the Sony Xperia X (Suzu/2016).


• 16.04 and older devices that did not get 20.04 will need to be ported manual if there kernel is recent enough for a stable 24.04 base (Android 9 [2018] supported devices should just be recent enough).


• When booting for the first time during installation, the phone will freeze at the OEM boot logo, this is OK and after roughly 10 minutes it will get into the OS. This is only after the first boot after a install/reinstall and should boot quicker afterwards.


• For sub updates, instead of the old "YY.MM OTA-XX" versioning number, it is now "YY.MM X.X" for sub version of the Ubuntu base then sub number for Ubuntu Touch version on top.
