Use QEMU through VNC rather then native window:

At the end of your QEMU command, have this string: "-vnc :0" that will instead of opening a GTK window, with start a VNC remote desktop connection using the port 5900. Then you can connect to the VM/emulator using a remote desktop connection app that supports VNC like KRDC.
